Stand Out at Markets with This Easy Tent Sign Hack
When you’re selling at craft fairs, farmers markets, or pop-up events, your booth’s first impression matters—and nothing captures attention quite like a bold, custom sign. In this blog post, I’ll show you how to hang one of my signs on your canopy tent, just like the photo example above, using a simple PVC arm frame. Whether you're new to vending or a seasoned market pro, this setup is durable, affordable, and eye-catching.
How to Hang Your Sign
From a Market Tent
Hanging your sign from a canopy tent ensures it's visible above
the crowd and adds a professional, polished look to your booth.
🧰 Materials (available at any hardware store):
- (1) 1” PVC pipe, ~24" long (the horizontal arm)
- (2) 1” PVC elbows (90-degree)
- (1) 1” PVC T-joint (to attach to tent leg)
- (1) 1” PVC pipe, ~8" long (vertical down-pipe from T-joint)
- (2) Heavy-duty zip ties or Velcro straps
- Drill (optional, for extra holes to secure hooks)
Assembly Instructions:
Build the Arm:
- Connect one elbow joint to each end of your 24" pipe.
- Insert the short 8” pipe into the T-joint and attach one elbow from above.
- You should now have a T-joint that connects your vertical tent leg to a horizontal arm extending outward.
Secure to the Tent:
- Use zip ties ( Irecommend) or Velcro straps to attach the T-joint snugly around the top of your canopy leg. Or metal joints that bolt together.
- Make sure the arm extends out far enough to hold the sign clear of the tent walls.
Hang the Sign:
- Clip the carabiners or S-hooks through the eye hooks on your sign and hang them from the horizontal PVC pipe.
- Adjust chain length as needed to make sure the sign hangs evenly.

Test It Out:
- Give it a gentle shake to ensure stability.
- For windy days, add side ties or use sandbags on your tent legs to keep everything grounded.
You can also build this with wood instead of pvc! Stay tuned for those instructions.
Dont forget, if you want a differnt color to grab spraypaint for plastic at your local hardware store in color of choice.
